With summer vacations around the corner, you can offer your kids a lot more than just trips out of the city. The Academy for Creative Expression (ACE) has come up with summer workshops, where children can enact scenes from famous novels, Harry Potter and The Jungle Book.

This is a chance for kids to step into the shoes of characters like Harry Potter or Lord Voldemort from JK Rowling’s popular series, or Mowgli and his animal friends from Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book. The classes will be conducted from April 25 to May 31 for kids between the ages of two and a half and 13 years.

"I always hear kids cribbing about their home assignments during summer vacations. So we thought of giving them a creative platform this year, where they can not only enjoy themselves, but also learn the value of social interaction and team spirit,” says Raëll Padamsee, director, ACE Productions. The sessions will comprise theatre games, role playing, music and dance. These workshops will be conducted across 20 centres in the city, located between Colaba and Thane. Harry Potter and The Jungle Book always attract kids. So I’m sure they’ll have a lot of fun playing their favourite characters. Auditions will be held at the venues for the casting. Kids will also be provided with colourful props and costumes for their respective roles,” says Padamsee.
