A boat carrying 14 Pakistani fishermen sank in the Arabian sea on Saturday and it was not clear whether there were any survivors, an official said.

The boat went down near Charna Island, 25 kilometers west of the port city of Karachi, said Nasir Bonery, spokesman for the Fishermen's Cooperative Society.

The group asked Pakistan's navy to help search for the fishermen, he said.
"We don't know what happened to them. So far, we have no information," he told the agency.
