Pak presses panic buttons, summons envoys for n-talks

Pak has summoned its key ambassadors for "urgent consultations" on how to deal with the n-proliferation fallout.

Pakistan has summoned almost all of its key ambassadors for "urgent consultations" on how to deal with the nuclear proliferation fallout precipitated by Dr. A.Q. Khan.

According to the Daily Times, the envoys based in Europe, including High Commissioner Maleeha Lodi from Britain, will be travelling back to Pakistan sometime this week.

Pakistan's Ambassador to the United States, Jehangir Ashraf Qazi, and the country's permanent representative at the UN, Munir Akram, are likely to fly home, said the report.

Pakistan's High Commissioner to India Aziz Ahmed Khan and its ambassador to China have also been summoned to brief President Pervez Musharraf, Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali and Foreign Minister Khurshid Ahmed Kasuri.
