Pakistan has delayed the hanging of a British national by two months from its scheduled date of November 1, when Prince Charles was due to visit the country, jail officials said on Thursday.

Officials at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi said they had received a letter from President Pervez Musharraf's office ordering a two-month stay of execution for Mirza Tahir Hussain.
British Prime Minister Tony Blair had urged military ruler Musharraf to halt the hanging of 36-year-old Hussain, who has spent nearly half his life in a Pakistani jail for the murder of a taxi driver.
