A popular television stand-up comedian was forced off a studio in a north-west suburb recently allegedly by activists of a political party since he hailed from Pakistan.
Activists from the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) forced Pakistani comedian Shakeel Siddqui off the sets of a television show at Mohan Studios in suburban Andheri on Wednesday night, MNS party officials said.
Siddiqui had allegedly gone to the studio allegedly to clear some dues when the group of MNS activists stormed the set and demanded that he leave the country.
The Pakistani comedian is known for his performances on television serials like 'Comedy Circus' and is among the better known faces in the field of stand-up comedy.
No police complaint was filed by Siddiqui or the producers of the show.
