In the Pinky Sarkar murder case in the Nithari serial killings, the CBI Court at Ghaziabad on Wednesday charged Moninder Singh Pandher with rape and murder. Earlier the CBI had named only Pandher's employee Surinder Koli as the accused and gave a clean chit to Pandher.
The charges were made on the application of Bandana Sarkar, Pinky's mother, praying that Moninder Singh Pandher and former Circle Officer with the Noida Police Dinesh Yadav be added as accused in her daughter's murder case.
The court refused the prayer in respect of Yadav but accepted it for Pandher.
Pandher, already in jail, has been ordered to be taken into judicial custody under the added sections. Ordering the addition of Pandher's name as an accused, the court directed the addition of murder and rape charges along with section 120 B against him.
Regarding the case diary, which a Nithari victim's advocate had alleged was not submitted by Dinesh Yadav to the CBI court, it as presumed that the diary was available and not missing.
Pappu Lal, father of one of the Nithari victims, said, "Inclusion of Pandher's name in the Pinky Sarkar murder case has given us hope. We will try to get his name as an accused in all the charge-sheets in which the CBI has given him a clean chit. We will fight till we get justice."
