Patil mum on question of Soren's arrest

Home Minister Shivraj Patil kept quiet and only smiled when asked if he knew whether Soren had been arrested or not.

Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil kept quiet on a query from BJP in the Rajya Sabha whether Union Coal Minister Shibu Soren, convicted by a Delhi Court, has been arrested.

As the debate on internal security concluded, BJP member SS Ahluwalia asked whether the Home Minister knows if Soren has been arrested or not.

Patil did not answer and only smiled.

Shortly afterwards, the House was adjourned.

Soren was on Tuesday convicted by a Delhi Court after it held him guilty of conspiracy in the kidnapping and murder of his former private secretary Shashi Nath Jha twelve years ago.
