Now you can expect the police control room (PCR) to be more prompt in providing assistance as the city police have reduced the time limit of responding to an emergency call.
The response time has been reduced to three to nine minutes from 12 minutes and the police are also taking serious note if any PCR van does not reach the spot within "defined" time. The department would issue notice to the officers manning the PCR, a senior police official said.
“We have been doing this exercise for the last one month to make policing more effective in Gurgaon. Now the PCR van can reach anywhere within few minutes in response to a call,” said Alok Mittal, the joint commissioner of police, Gurgaon.
The city police have around 43 PCR vans. In March with the addition of 40 new bikes in the police squad, the total strength of motorcycle squad has gone up to 140.
Mittal said as the PCR is the backbone of police system and the officers on emergency vehicle are the first to inspect crime scenes, these vehicles will help them to reach the spot in very short time.

{{/usCountry}}“The response time is crucial and a city like Gurgaon needs quick response teams which can reach the spot within a few minutes.” He said the police are all set to chase criminals as their mobility get faster.
“Movement of PCR vans also shows presence of police in the vicinity and helps in enforcing discipline,” said Mittal.
