Both the President and the Prime Minister hoped for a similar performance in the ODI series, which begins on February 6 in Peshawar.

They commended the remarkable come-back made by the Pakistani team in the third Test where they recovered from being three down for naught to score 200 plus in the first innings and then managing to win the match with a day's play to go.

"This speaks volumes for the fighting qualities and team spirit shown by the Pakistan team," media reports quoted the President and the PM as saying.

Meanwhile, the Sports Minister also echoed the views expressed by Gen Musharraf and Aziz, calling the victory a big achievement.

"After series victory against England, Pakistan cricket team has also triumphed in the rubber against India which is a big achievement in itself," Ajmal told reporters after the match.
