According to Betma police, SDM Depalpur G S Kanodia had been investigating complaints against M/s ST Petrol Camp, located in village Machal, since May 10.

It had been informed that a large quantity of naphtha was being stored without permission and was being sold openly from there. Investigations revealed the complaint to be true and he gave instructions in writing to the Betma police for taking appropriate action.

Acting on the same, the police conducted a raid on the premise and while checking company records and documents found that the licence deed had already expired and the owners had extended the same by overwriting with a pen on the legal documents.

Large stocks of naphtha stored above the licence agreement were seized from the company godown.
