I will be going to Manali and Shimla for my vacation and will be there for 11 days. I am planning to spend three nights each in Manali and Shimla. Which other places are worth a visit nearby? Can you help chalk out a travel plan for me and my family?

Combining Shimla and Manali in a great travel idea. Here’s a plan that will make your journey more exciting:
Day 1 and 2 in Chail. Nice place to start off with.
Day 3 and 4 in Shimla. Head from Shimla to Manali taking the Shimla - Narkanda - Manali route. You could also take the normal Shimla - Bilaspur-Manali route without any night stoppage, but that would be a boring six-seven-hour drive!
Day 5 - Stop at Narkanda.
Day 6-7 in Kullu. Travel to Kullu on day 6 and visit Manikaran on day 7.
Depending upon the weather conditions, you can enjoy rafting on the way to Manikaran.
Day 8 – 11 in Manali

I will be visiting Delhi in the month of June with kids. I want to show them the historic sights but my friends are warning me of the hot and humid weather conditions. How should I plan my holiday keeping in mind that my kids are between the ages of 5-8. Do I wait for a favourable weather or should I go ahead and make the best of my kids’ summer holidays?

AComing to Delhi to visit the historical monuments is a great idea. Stretch the holiday for at least a week so that you have enough time to visit places at an easy pace. Do visit Qutub Minar, Humayun’s Tomb, and Red Fort. And do keep lemonade with you while you visit these places. Venture during the late afternoon when the sun is not so harsh and make the most of your kids’ vacation.
