The move, which will be finalised at a meeting chaired by party chief M Karunanidhi on Sunday morning, is aimed at showing the DMK’s annoyance over Karunanidhi’s daughter, Kanimozhi, being sent to Tihar jail in the 2G spectrum scam case on Friday.

Meanwhile, Karunanidhi said in a statement that Kanimozhi was arrested in violation of rules.

But at the same time, the DMK does not want to cut off the line of communication with the UPA. Party sources said Karunanidhi would also leave for Delhi on Monday to meet Kanimozhi.

Kanimozhi was accused of taking kickbacks for getting 2G spectrum allocations for an ineligible company during former telecom minister A Raja’s tenure.

Earlier, although party sources said a final decision would be taken on attending the PM’s dinner only on Sunday morning, none of the party’s central ministers had finalised any travel plans till late Saturday night.
