Prime Minister Narendra Modi has edged out US President Barak Obama and other world leaders to be rated as the world’s top policy maker, according to a new report of Harvard’s prestigious Kennedy School of Government.
87.8% Indians have supported the Modi government’s policies while Vladimir Putin and Xi jinping found 79.6% and 78.6% support, respectively among their countrymen.
The report titled “Reflections on a Survey of Global Perceptions of International Leaders and World Powers” had asked citizens across 30 nations of the world to give their views on 10 influential leaders having a global impact has thrown up very interesting findings, said a release.
Modi also came a close second to in the survey on “handling of domestic affairs” after Xi Jinping. The PM, however, enjoyed a confidence rating of 93.2% on domestic affairs among participants while he was rated at 93.3% on handling of international affairs.
A government release also said, “The general trend of this report was that leaders in full-fledged democracies received far lesser numbers as compared to other nations. Narendra Modi, however, bucked this trend.
