Singh and Gandhi would visit the Gauhati Medical College Hospital and the Mohendra Mohan Chowdhury Civil Hospital here and inquire about the wellbeing of the injured, official sources said, adding that they would also visit the nearby blast site at Kamrup (metro) District Deputy Commissioner's office.

The Prime Minister would also held meeting with Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and his cabinet colleagues as well as top civil, police and army officers at Lokopriya Gopinath Bordoloi international airport in Guwahati, the sources said.

Heavy security arrangements have been made, security personnel deployed all over the city and patrolling intensified. Checking of vehicles and people were also stepped up in view of the VVIP's visit.

Meanwhile, the BJP, VHP and the Bajrang Dal have separately called for a day-long bandh Saturday protesting the 13 serial blasts in four lower Assam districts on Thursday killing 77 people.
