PM to meet Indians in US

Singh will meet the Indian community in New York next week, where he will attend the UN meet.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will meet members of the Indian community in New York but may not do so in Paris during his trips to the US and France.

Foreign Secretary Shyam Saran told reporters in the capital on Friday that a meeting with the Indian community had been scheduled in New York, where Singh will attend the UN General Assembly session next week.

Singh will be in New York from September 13-17.

But a similar interaction would not be possible in Paris because of paucity of time, he added. Singh will be in Paris from September 11-13.
