Police alert, situation normal at Sahibganj

NORMALCY RETURNED to the Sahibganj locality under Rajghat police station in the city where communal tension had erupted over dispute on performing Puja at a new site.

Police had lodge an FIR against five persons for disturbing the communal harmony but no arrest had been made so far. District administration had intensified search in all the sensitive localities and Kotwali. The Rajghat police station had been divided into two six sectors to maintain strict vigil.

SSP Raja Srivastav had assured the people that police would deal with an iron hand against the elements disturbing the communal harmony.

A section of PAC had been deployed in the locality and additional two companies are camping in Kotwali premises as precautionary measures.

Meanwhile, a delegation led by saffron brigade had submitted a memorandum to the district administration and blamed members of a particular community to hatch a conspiracy to grab a piece of land.

BJP MP Yogi Adityanath and members of divisional working committee of Vishwa Hindu Parishad Vibhuti Sharan Gupta had blamed that the members of particular community were trying to up root a Neem tree to deprive members of other community from their religious place and performing Puja.

He claimed that saffron organisation had realised their defeat, therefore, they were disturbing the communal harmony.

He appealed members of both community and peace loving people to maintain communal harmony to foil the attempt of communal forces.

Meanwhile, SPRA who is also holding the charge of SP city Ram Bharose had assured that the Puja performing near the disputed land would continue.

It was the second incident of scuffle in the same localities within four days, which had, raised the apprehension among the people that peace and communal harmony might be disturbed before festival.
