Some Bangladeshi currency notes, five mobile handsets, SIM cards (also from Bangladesh), and two international debit cards were recovered from the four, identified as Biju Sonowal, Jayanta Moran, Dikshu Moran and Dipak Hasong.

Reportedly Ulfa had warned the Congress of dire consequences for the ruling party’s alleged divisive politics to split the outfit.

The four were proceeding towards the Indo-Bangla border area in the West Garo Hills district of Meghalaya when they were apprehended.

“The Ulfa group had sneaked into the city a few days ago. Our investigations on them are on,” said Longnit Teron, city additional SP.

On March 14, immediately after the Rajiv Bhawan blast, militants belonging to the anti-talk faction of the National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) ambushed a BSF patrol party at Ultapani near the Indo- Bhutan border, killing nine jawans.
