Police asked to register FIR against Bhansali

A local court has directed police to register FIR against the filmmaker on the complaint of an antique furniture dealer.

A local court has directed police to register FIR against well-known filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Applause Bhansali Films on the complaint of an antique furniture dealer, whose furniture was destroyed during the shooting of the Bollywood director's film Black in October 2005.

Magistrate AG Mohabey of Borivali court has directed the senior police inspector of Aarey Police Station to register an FIR against Bhansali and submit a report in the case within two months, furniture dealer Farida Hoosenally's lawyer, YP Singh said on Thursday.

Hoosenally, whose antique furniture got burnt on the sets of film Black had approached police in October 2005, to lodge FIR against Sanjay Leela Bhansali and officers of Applause Bhansali Films which had produced the movie.

She had charged Bhansali and others of criminal negligence that caused her losses to the tune of crore of rupees.
