Haryana government claims that the construction site on the border of the two states falls in its territory and that it has got the permission of Central Water Commission to start work, official sources said here.

However, Uttar Pradesh officials said the area fell under its jurisdiction.

Sources said officials of the two states are likely to meet soon to iron out the differences.
