The owner of the flat, frequented by the main accused Sachun Pahari and newly-elected block pramukh of ruling Samajwadi Party, KD Singh, has been taken into custody.

A massive hunt has been launched to nab Pahari, Senior Superintendent of Police Ashitosh Pandey said.

A non-bailable warrant has been issued against Pahari's and a reward had also been declared on his head, he said.

Two persons, Jai Prakash and Pramod Singh, have already been arrested in connection with Meher's murder, he added.

Meher Bhargava, who had suffered gun shots in her neck when unidentified assailants fired at her near SSP Pandey's residence on February 28, had died at Apollo hospital in Delhi on Saturday.
