Police on Thursday raided the residence of former UP Minister Mohammad Azam Khan and seized sewing machines and blankets,

allegedly procured from government funds.
About 500 sewing machines and blankets, procured from state funds by the previous Mulayam Singh government for distribution among the needy, were kept at Khan's residence, official sources said.

After receiving information that Khan was distributing them to the people today, the team raided his house and recovered the goods.
The matter was being investigated, sources added.
