The local people from adjoining villages of Seoni including Khawasa and Kurai staged road blockade on road leading to village Touria to press the Union and State governments to start widening of national highway – 7 from two-lane to four-lane between Mohgaon to Khawasa and finish repairs in the ghats before monsoon.

The tourists on way to enter from the Touria gate of Pench National Park on Saturday afternoon got stuck due to road blockade and were unable to enter the Park.
According to the Jan Manch activists, the National Highway Authority of India started repairs work two weeks back, but all of sudden the contractor left the work on 28 kilometer stretch of NH-7 from Mohgaon to Khawasa on Seoni – Nagpur (Maharashtra) segment.

Seoni Sub-divisional officer of Police ND Jatav said the police have registered case against the agitators of road blockade.

A case of wrongful restraint is registered against the agitators in Kurai police station Seoni.
