The four senior leaders -- Advani, MM Joshi, Yashwant Sinha and Shanta Kumar-- called for a “thorough review” of the reasons for the defeat in Bihar where BJP-led alliance conceded a two-third majority to the rival Grand Alliance.

The elders also complained about how the party was “emasculated”, how its “consensual character” was lost and how it was forced to “kow-tow to a handful”. These are all seen as indirect references to the allegedly authoritarian ways of the Modi-Shah camp.
The four leaders currently do not have any active role in the party. They were respectably sidelined by the present leadership by accomodating them in the ‘margdarshak mandal’ for stalwarts aged over 75. But they could also be voicing what some others in the party already feel.
So, will the party take them seriously and act on their advice? We look forward to your take.
