Incoming flights at the city's international airport were diverted on Tuesday to Hyderabad on account of poor visibility following heavy rains, airport officials said.

The visibility was only 800 meters this morning, which later improved to 1400 meters, they said, adding the minimum required visibility level is 2000 meters.

However, fog and heavy rains last night disrupted the proper functioning of the Instrument Landing System (ILS) due to which flights coming from Mumbai to Delhi were diverted to Hyderabad, they added.
