The porch of the advocates’ chamber under construction at the Civil Court collapsed on April 2, resulting in the death of two labourers. Allotment of construction work again to the same agency at the Collectorate premises that had built the porch, has kicked off a controversy.Activists of human rights organisation Teesri Aankh staged a dharna at the district magistrate office and demanded compensation for the family members of the killed labourers and financial assistance to the injured. He said so far the district administration had not taken any initiative in this direction. Organising secretary Markandey Singh said on April 20 members of his organisation would stage a dharna along with the family members of those killed.
