According to automobile experts, the Noida-Greater Noida expressway’s condition has deteriorated and the road lacks basic medical facilities in case of emergency.

Delhi-NCR being the hub of imported vehicles, one can easily spot 1000cc motorbikes or imported sports cars cruising on DND and the expressway, which have also turned into death traps for many speedsters.

On Sunday morning, a man riding his Harley Davidson bike met with an accident at Noida-Greater Noida expressway in Greater Noida while he was trying to skip a pothole on the expressway.

“This is really tragic. Lots of people have lost their life on the expressway due to poor road condition. Expressways are a delight for any rider but at a speed of 80-100 km/hr a pothole or even a stone may cause the rider to lose control over the vehicle,” said a super biker Harsh Vardhan Singh, who owns a Yamaha R1.

Automobile enthusiasts have also complained of poor medical/ trauma facilities on these expressways. “No one can avert accidents completely but the authorities should ensure that they deploy ambulances on either side of the expressway. Unfortunately, there is no ambulance neither there are any PCR vans on the expressway,” said another super biker Tarun Prakash.

But nothing stops those seeking the thrill of speed from testing the limits of their machines. Recently, Noida police stopped a Mercedes driver at Jewar toll plaza on Yamuna expressway, which was running at a speed of 216km/hr.
