The international chart - which ranks box office performance outside the US and Canada - was topped by Titanic, which took $1.2bn (£686m).
The first two Harry Potter films are also included in the top five. The Goblet of Fire crossed the $600m mark this week, having been released internationally last November and December. Its takings include £48m at the UK box office, where it was the most successful film of 2005.
