Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee will be in Gujarat tomorrow on a day-long visit during which he is slated to attend several functions and may also meet Chief Minister Narendra Modi.
He will inaugurate the Aayakar Vihar, a residential colony for income tax officers here.
"The Finance Minister has acceded to our request to inaugurate the newly constructed Aayakar Vihar residential quarters, besides performing 'bhoomi poojan' for a new office building and unveiling a Chankya's statue," chief I-T commissioner, Gujarat circle, DS Rastogi said here today.
Before arriving here, Mukherjee is scheduled to visit Surat and attend a function organised by the South Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry, official sources said.
He is also likely to meet Modi during the visit, they added.
