Praveen Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Cuttack, was on Thursday appointed as Superintendent of Police in the violent-hit Kandhamal district.
Kumar succeeded Nikhil Kanodia, who had been placed under suspension in the wake of killing of VHP leader Laxmanananda Saraswati, official sources said.

Amarendra Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Cuttack (Rural) will succeed Praveen Kumar, the sources added.
