An eight-month pregnant woman was burnt alive in a suspected case of dowry near here in Andhra Pradesh, police said on Sunday.

An eight-month pregnant woman was burnt alive in a suspected case of dowry near here in Andhra Pradesh, police said on Sunday.

Police have launched a search for the husband and parents-in-law of D Pusha (20), who was set ablaze in her house in Kakinada last night, they said.

Pusha had got married to one Swamy two years ago.

In a complaint to the police, Pusha's parents have blamed her husband and parents-in-law for the death and said they had been demanding dowry for the last few months.

A case has been registered and further probe was on.

"We have launched a manhunt to nab the trio. The exact reason behind the death would be known only after their arrest, Sub-Inspector Prashant Kumar said.
