President for girl's entry in Doon School

An unprecedented suggestion came from President Pratibha Patil to the management of famous Doon School as she advocated for girl students entry in the school.

An unprecedented suggestion came from President Pratibha Patil to the management of famous Doon School as she advocated for girl students entry in the school. Addressing gathering at the 75th platinum jubilee of Doon School in Dehradun on Saturday she said it is high time that girls should be allowed to study at Doon School.

"I have observed in several convocation programmes that girls earn more medals than boy students',girls should not be deprived of getting education here, " President Pratibha Patil said.

Interestingly President seconds Uttarakhand Governor Margret Alva's views who also echoed the similar sentiments.

Doon School is a boy's boarding school which is celebrating platinum jubilee this year. Commenting on the school's performance she underlined, "Doon School has focused on all round education. The school pioneered some key educational practices including socially useful productive work."

Special guest for the event King of Bhutan Jugme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuk while addressing students said school life must by enjoyed by all means.

"The force of competitiveness may take joy of life so enjoy your school life."
