An election presiding officer suffered from a stroke while on duty on Thursday, police said.

B N Bavisi, who was presiding officer at a polling booth in Karen village in Dhari taluka, suffered a heart attack, following which he was shifted to the civil hospital in the district headquarters, they said.

The doctors at the civil hospital said that Bavisi's condition was stable and is under observation.
