PANIC GRIPPED the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College and Hospital (NSCBMCH) today when three persons opened fire at prisoner Gudda Pathan undergoing medical treatment.

The Jabalpur police have registered a case under section 307 IPC (attempt to murder) against three persons including Kallu Raikwar native of district Damoh, in today’s firing incident that took place in ward number 15 of the NSCBMCH.

District Superintendent of Police D. Shriniwas Rao said that Damoh-resident Gudda Pathan had murdered one Sanjeev Burman in November 2005 following an argument related to a contract of catching fishes. He had been incarcerated at Damoh prison.
