With as many as five films in her kitty, actress Priyanka Chopra says she is geared to dish out some great performances in the new year. Some of the upcoming flicks are Krishh, Don, Taxi 9211, God Tussi Great Ho and Sahib Biwi Aur Ghulam.
“My three-year-long run in the Indian film industry has been prolific and very fulfilling,” says Priyanka. “And while it is a nice thing to know, it also brings with a sense of responsibility, a drive to perform better in future.”
And what about her sex siren image? Lets in Priyanka, “I did not build any image.” She goes on to say, “My role in Aitraaz was that of an ambitious and a desperate woman. And that is something I could have never played without looking sensuous and alluring on screen. However in Waqt, I played the role of a salwar-kameez clad newly-wed girl, and if my viewers found me sexy in that outfit as well, then I choose to take it as a compliment.”
Talking about her roles in her forthcoming films Priyanka says, “It’s an interesting mix of characters. In Krissh, my role is that of a bemused TV journalist, who is in some soup or the other all the time. While in God Tussi Great Ho, I play a journalist who is trying to pull a successful sting operation.”

{{/usCountry}}The year 2006 also belongs to the remakes of some popular old films, and Priyanka will be seen in two big films — Farhan Akhtar’s Don as Roma and PNC’s Sahib Biwi Aur Ghulam as Choti Bahu.
Quiz her on her rendition of the legendary characters and she has to say; “I will try and lend each role with a fresh interpretation. The way Zeenatji played Roma, I don’t think anyone can ever do it like that, the same goes for Choti Bahu. It will be my endeavour to be true to the soul of these characters.”
Okay, so we know that her professional life is abuzz with a lot of activity. But what’s happening on the personal front? Pat comes the reply, “I don’t get time for anything else. But then I love it this way. Moreover, I am a very shy and private person. Given any free time, I prefer to be with my family, in my own den.”
