She will also oversee the canvassing in Amethi, her brother Rahul Gandhi's parliamentary constituency.

Priyanka will be holding meetings with party workers and oversee campaigning in all the five assembly segments falling under Amethi, Congress sources said on Friday.

Carrying a message from party high command she will apprise Congress workers about party's poll strategy in the constituency going to poll in the fifth phase of Uttar Pradesh assembly polls on April 28.

An uphill task of pacifying a section of Congress workers apparently unhappy with the choice of party candidates is lying ahead for Priyanka, who will be visiting the constituency after 16 months, they said.

The party has fielded Amita Singh (Amethi), Mohd Naeem (Gauriganj), Ram Sewak Dhobi (Jagdihspur), Shiv Balak Pasi (Salon) and Dr Muslim (Tiloii) from the five assembly seats falling under Amethi's constituency.
