Pro-Eelam parties in TN call for demo on lawyers issue

would stage a state-wide demonstration on February 23 condemning the police lathicharge on Madras High Court advocates.

MDMK General Secretary Vaiko said in a statement here that the demonstration would be held in all district headquarters and outside District Collectors’ offices.

Claiming the police action was a 'planned attack', he accused the Tamil Nadu government of ordering the police to target the advocates because they were carrying out protests in support of the Sri Lankan Tamils.
