Protest march in support of maruti staff

Various unions and labour groups of the factories located in the Gurgaon-Manesar industrial belt are planning to hold a joint protest rally on Thursday in front of Maruti Suzuki India's Manesar plant in support of striking workers.

Various unions and labour groups of the factories located in the Gurgaon-Manesar industrial belt are planning to hold a joint protest rally on Thursday in front of Maruti Suzuki India's Manesar plant in support of striking workers.

The strike had completed six days, even as there is no sign of an end to the impasse. "There is no sign of positive development to the ongoing stalemate at Manesar. The management and the government are not taking any initiative," sad a trade union leader.

A public meeting will be held at 3pm in front MSI's Manesar plant gate and it will be followed by a rally in IMT, Manesar, he added.

Meanwhile, the administration and the labour department have come down heavily on agitators, saying action would be taken trade unions.

Meanwhile, the state labour department on Wednesday asked the striking employees of Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) and Suzuki's two-wheeler plant to refrain from taking law unto their hands.
