The People's Democratic Party (PDP) on Saturday said it would launch a stir if effective steps were not taken to supply adequate drinking water in several parts of Jammu region.

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) on Saturday said it would launch a stir if effective steps were not taken to supply adequate drinking water in several parts of Jammu region.

"The region has been facing unprecedented water and power crises due to wrong policies of the NC-led coalition government in Jammu and Kashmir," PDP general secretary Balbir Singh said.

Addressing a day-long party convention at Bilawar, some 150-km from here, in Kathua district, he accused the coalition government of not taking any steps to tackle these problems.

The PDP leader, who had toured several dry areas of the region, said natural resources had depleted there due to water scarcity.
