PS to officials: Submit reports on colleges

PRINCIPAL SECRETARY Higher Education Bhagirath Prasad warned divisional officials of disciplinary action if they fail to submit college inspection reports.

He expressed resentment over the failure of officials to complete inspection of colleges in the state as directed by the department.

The warning by the principal secretary came during a departmental review meeting held at the Mantralaya on Thursday. Prasad told Hindustan Times that the officials had been given a target till June to complete the detailed inspections of colleges as regards infrastructure and faculty positions.

However, most of the division level officials — save those of Bhopal and Jabalpur —did not complete the job seriously. “They have been asked to get their act together and come out with reports at the earliest failing which disciplinary actions will be taken against them,’’ Prasad informed.

The principal secretary also said that the officials were directed to carry out detailed inspections of the B Ed colleges particularly as regards the fulfillment of norms regarding infrastructure and faculty spelt out by the National Council for
