Punish AI employees who participated in the strike
This refers to the news report Court breaks Air India strike; 17 employees are sacked, (May 27). After the Mangalore air tragedy, it was irresponsible behaviour on the part of the AI employees to go on a flash strike. The strike not only caused unnecessary problems for the passengers but also damaged the carrier’s image. The guilty employees must be punished.

It is shocking to hear UPA ministers blaming the pilots of AI 737-800 for the mishap in Mangalore even though the inquiry is yet to be over. But why are the same leaders not talking about the fact that the runway did not conform to standards prescribed by authorities like the Directorate General of Civil Aviation) the National Building Code of India, and the Ministry of Civil Aviation?

Caste-based census is politics
The RSS has rightly said that a caste-based census is against the idea of a casteless society envisaged by the great secular leaders of the country like Babasaheb Ambedkar. This is not secularism but one more votebank-motivated gimmick. I also fail to understand why these ‘secular’ politicians and parties support all minority and OBC reservation policies but always block the Women’s Reservation Bill.
