Rahul Gandhi to visit Puducherry, Cuddalore district today

Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi will visit the rain-hit areas of the Union Territory of Puducherry and Cuddalore district of Tamil Nadu on Tuesday.

After arriving at Puducherry airport, Gandhi will visit Rodierpet, Riyankuppam, Krimambakkam and a few other areas in the distict, as well as distribute relief materials to the affected people, PCC president and MLA A Namassivayam said in a press release.

Namassivayam said that Gandhi will also visit the adjoining Cuddalore district in Tamil Nadu and see for himself the extent of the havoc wreaked there by the torrential north-east monsoon rainfall.

The Congress vice president would fly back to Delhi from Puducherry airport on Tuesday after wrapping up his visit, the release added.
