Five days after the BJP launched its website on poll manifesto, the Congress too moved in the same direction and uploaded a dedicated e-platform on Wednesday to invite public suggestions for its 2014 election manifesto.
Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi, who actively pushed the idea of a manifesto website, launched http://incmanifesto.com from Kherli town of Alwar.
HT had reported on October 8 how Gandhi had cracked the whip to fast track this website.
“I have constituted a team for making party manifesto saying that it should be made by common people. The work in political system is done behind closed doors and slowly-slowly everybody’s voice has to be taken inside”, Gandhi said.
This is the first such effort of the two main political parties of the country to gauge the public mood before drafting their respective manifesto. Both the parties have started attaching tremendous importance to social media and cyber space in the recent times.
