The Amethi MP is also scheduled to visit Chatra, a naxalite-affected district, and state capital Ranchi, where he will address a meet of youth Congress workers.

Rahul will also interact with Youth Congress leaders at Dumka, Dhanbad, Jamshedpur and Hazaribagh districts.

Jharkhand Mukti Morcha chief Shibu Soren has described Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi's visit to Jharkhand as "a political stunt ahead of the coming assembly election to woo voters".

"If Rahul likes living in a hut, why doesn't he purchase land in Delhi and make a hut there?" he asked while addressing newsmen at his residence here on Wednesday.

Soren in the past sang paens to Rahul and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi when his JMM allied with the Congress for assembly and parliamentary polls. The JMM has denied having a pre-poll alliance with the Congress for the impending assembly polls.

Soren said he has taken Rahul's visit "lightly" as it will not have any impact on the masses here. "Rahul is not a lion that his visit will scare us," he said.
