"There is a system of nomination to various posts in NSUI and YC, but he wants to change it. The age of nomination will go and there will be elections," NSUI leader Vinay Tomar quoted Gandhi as saying at a meeting of college students in Ahmedabad.

Tomar spoke to reporters after the meeting, where the media was not allowed.

The young MP, in-charge of NSUI and Youth Congress, addressed a packed hall of college students here. Gandhi is visiting Gujarat to give a boost to NSUI enrolment drive and its democratisation process, Tomar said.

NSUI has started an enrolment drive in Gujarat and elections to various posts of the organisation will be held soon, Tomar said, adding, Gandhi will also visit Rajkot and Vadodara and address youths there.

Gandhi said his efforts of democratising the youth organisations is aimed at bringing more common men into mainstream politics, Tomar added.
