Lack of male gaze however would make her unhappy, reveals Raima Sen.

If, in real life, you had as possessive a husband as Kay Kay in Honeymoon Travels, how would you react?
I think he was a kind of cute husband in Honeymoon Travels.

In Chokher Bali, you played a docile wife who didn’t question her husband even after she found out that he is attracted to another woman. In real life, how would you react?
One can’t control or help a situation like this. I will probably talk about it with my man; but if I realize that he is going to carry on, I would leave him of course. I can’t stop him from flirting; I don’t mind him being attracted to someone else because he is, afterall, a human being. It’s silly to presume that he is going to find me, and me alone, attractive for the rest of his life.

When did you first become aware of the male gaze?
I guess when I was 17 or 18.

Your yardstick for judging a man?
I am a very bad judge of people’s character especially when it comes to men. I don’t think I can or ever will be able to figure them out.

Does that make it difficult for you to trust a man or be in a relationship?
To a certain extent, yes, but I also feel that it takes two hands to clap. If a relationship is not working, it’s not only his fault, it’s mine as well. I don’t try to put the entire blame on a man if a relationship goes bad.

What is the first thing you look for in a man?
I like charming men, especially those with a great sense of humour.

To what extent is your view of men influenced by the way you view your dad?
My mother says that all of us look for a father’s quality in a man.
