CONTINUOUS RAINFALL for several hours has thrown normal life out of gear here in Varanasi on Saturday.
Change in climatic condition brought smiles on the faces of locals and farmers.
Varanasi has experienced continuous rainfall since Saturday morning, which continued for the whole day with a regular interval. Low lying areas witnessed waterlogging and threw normal traffic out of gear.
The conditions of several roads, including Gaudaulia-Lahuraveer, Ravindrapuri by-pass, Gaudaulia-Assi became worse due to continuous rainfall. These roads, which are already in dilapidated condition, the rainfall multiplied the miseries of vehicular traffic.
Some roads like Lanka Samne Ghat, Samne Ghat-Lanka, Lanka-Naria etc., have become slippery posing a threat of accidents to two-wheelers.
However, the continuous rainfall brought smiles on the faces of farmers as the standing crops of paddy were drying due to inadequate rainfall.
