Suspended Samajwadi Party MP Raj Babbar on Sunday said he has formed a new non-political forum 'Samajwadi Morcha' to fight for the cause of farmers, unemployed youth and the downtrodden.
"The problems of farmers and unemployed youth need immediate attention of the government and Samajwadi Morcha would take up their cause," Babbar said.
To a question on the ongoing controversy over office of profit leading to resignation of several MPs, including Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Babbar said prevailing confusion should be removed with a clear-cut definition of the term so that things could be put in proper perspective.
Babbar said there was no need to point fingers at the Election Commission as no "biased" decision has been taken on the subject. "It will be better that government convened an all-party meeting to discuss the matter and evolve a consensus," he said.
Asked about his future in films, Babbar said though there is paucity of time being in public life, he is appearing in some movies, including Corporate with Bipasha Basu and Benaras starring Urmila Matondkar. He is also planning to produce a TV serial on Maharaja Ranjit Singh, he added.
Babbar later addressed a meeting of weavers and farmers in Tanda town.
