Communications and IT minister A. Raja on Wednesday met Home Minister P. Chidambaram to discuss security concerns associated with Chinese telecom equipment. Raja has asked the home ministry to firm up a policy on telecom equipment so that growth is not choked. The government is not giving permission to Indian telecom service providers to buy equipment form Chinese vendors including Huawei and ZTE, on objections from intelligence agencies.
