CPI leader D Raja on Saturday spoke to DMK President Karunanidhi and apprised him of the Left parties' stand on the Indo-US nuclear deal over which there is an uneasy standoff with the government.

"I spoke to Karunanidhi, an influential leader of the UPA over phone, and told him why the government was bent on going ahead with the deal when there were so many other issues to be resolved," the CPI National Secretary said.
Raja will be meeting Karunanidhi in Chennai on Sunday.
