Senior BJP leader Rajnath Singh on Monday met the family members of Neeraj Grover, who was stabbed to death in 2008 by a former naval officer at an actress' flat in Mumbai, and assured them of all possible help from the party for justice to their son.
During the half-an-hour meeting at Neeraj's residence in Kanpur, Singh told his father Amarnath Grover and other family members that Maharashtra chief minister Prithviraj Chauhan has also assured him that the state government will provide all possible help to them.
"If, the family feels that justice was denied to Neeraj, then the Maharashtra government will provide help to them," Singh later told reporters quoting Chauhan.
A Mumbai court had sentenced Emile Jerome Mathew to 10 years in jail for killing Neeraj, and him and his girlfriend Kannada actress Maria Susairaj to a maximum three years' imprisonment for destroying evidence, a sentence she had already served during trial. Neeraj's body was cut in pieces and was transported to another suburb in gunny bags, where the corpse was set on fire.
